VIRTUE AND HONOUR
St Patrick's Primary is proud to be part of Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese's system of 80 Catholic primary and secondary schools operating across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains providing more than 43,500 students with a high-quality, low fee Catholic education.
At St Patrick's committed to excellence in teaching and learning. We have a strong focus on the student at the centre of all we do. As a school community we value, celebrate and promote the Church and its mission.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO CREATING A LEARNING COMMUNITY WHERE:
OUR SCHOOL CREST
Our crest consists of four major symbols. It represents our school, our spirit and what we stand for as a school. The shape of the crest is the traditional shield. It represents St Patrick's Breastplate and its link to the Trinity, and to our faith in God to lead and protect us.
The letters "JMJ" found on the shield stands for Jesus, Mary and Joseph. This reminds us that in all that we do in our school community, we offer it all to Jesus and his Holy Family. We aim to imitate and aspire to their life and holiness.
The Southern Cross situates us in our part of the world and symbolises our Australian heritage. The symbol of the Southern Cross in our sky every night reminds us of the blessing bestowed on our land in an earlier part of our story.
The wheat symbolises bounty, charity, love and resurrection. Christ described Himself as a grain of wheat. We too are expected to be like wheat and grow and be bountiful - making a difference with Jesus as our inspiration.
The school motto is the latin "Virtūs et Honos" meaning strength, courage, excellence and honour. Reflecting on and trying to follow these virtues will help us, not only during our time at school, but throughout our whole lives.

OUR HISTORY
St Patrick's Primary has a rich history behind its faith and learning, delivering quality Catholic education for over 100 years.
On 2 April 1910, the Guildford community celebrated the opening of a new church building. In October of that year, the building began to serve a dual purpose when the Sisters of St Joseph started to use it as a school room for 50 students.
The Sisters of St Joseph rented a cottage in Guildford Road to be closer to the church/school building. Every Friday afternoon, the school room would be transformed back into a church and then on Sunday nights back to a school room, ready for the students on Monday mornings.
In 1935, the old church was moved to accommodate a new one, and a convent was built for the Sisters of St Joseph. The school continued to grow and over time many more buildings and facilities were added to both the school and the church.
Now well into its second century, St Patrick’s Primary delivers a relevant, contemporary education with well-appointed modern buildings and teaching facilities, thanks to the extensive building program of recent years. Our school is proud to continue serving its diverse community and delivering high quality, Catholic education.
